KP FUJIWARA

KP Fujiwara (She/Her) first found her love of film through Studio Ghibli. As a kid, she wore her family’s VHS copies of Kiki’s Delivery Service and My Neighbor Totoro to the ground, sparking a lifelong love of animation that would evolve into a love of all things media. During college, she started interning for the CinemaJaw Podcast, which got her introduced to the world of film criticism – and more specifically – CHICAGO film criticism.

Originally sticking close to her heart and chiming in on animated features, KP’s… charming… personality got her attention as Jaw Heads (CinemaJaw fans) wanted to hear more of KP’s takes on the movies. And now, she’s known for loving the opposite extremes of film: absolute masterpieces and complete dumpster fires alike. She’s just as home in the screening for Sorry Baby as she is Venom: The Last Dance. She talks about composition, coloring, and all things visual a little too much to make sense for an audio-only podcast. And the only thing she’s ever taken seriously about herself, is that she will under no circumstances take herself too seriously. Find her alongside Ry The Movie Guy every week on CinemaJaw – available everywhere great podcasts are.
