Marc Kozak writes reviews of new movies over at The Filmologist. He is partial to independent, foreign-language, and lesser-known features, but is not immune to the charms of Hollywood blockbusters. He is NOT a lifelong fan of the medium, mostly because he had limited screen time as a child and was usually outside playing various sports, none of which led to a lucrative career as an athlete. This lack of childhood movie experience has resulted in a lack of appreciation for classic 80s and 90s action movies, which is very disappointing to Marc’s friends and peers. At some point in college, he finally figured it out and more than made up for lost time. Marc aims to use The Filmologist to get more people interested and excited about movies they may never have heard of or are reluctant to give a shot because they sound weird. He believes that accepting the weird is the biggest step to opening up an entire new world of cinema, and works to encourage people to do so.
