James Y. Lee (they/he) is a Korean-American film critic in the Chicago area, having written reviews, features, and retrospectives for websites such as Film Obsessive (filmobsessive.com), MovieBabble (moviebabble.com), and Frame Rated (framerated.co.uk) since 2020. They are a voting member of the Dorian Awards under GALECA, and their festival press coverage includes reviews for the Tribeca Festival, the Sundance Film Festival, the New York Film Festival, the Melbourne International Film Festival, and so on. They also edit video countdowns for their favorite 10 to 15 movies of each year, which can be found on their Vimeo profile, and are currently studying film at Northwestern University, where they are involved with several film and theatre groups and productions.
