Leo Brady reviews “Miss Sloane” on AMovieGuy.com

In another decade, Miss Sloane would be revered for it’s tense drama and praised for the award-worthy material. It feels like something Jodie Foster would have dominated in the 90’s, adorning an armored power suit. What’s unfortunate, is that by today’s standards, everything about director John Madden’s (Shakespeare in Love) political thriller ventures into the melodramatic, making it feel better suited for television. I’m not sure what that says about the state of film, but Miss Sloane is saved by a powerhouse performance from Academy Award Nominee Jessica Chastain and some deliciously ridiculous theatrics.
